(Cover) - EN Star Style - Lady Gaga will be honoured with a Fashion Icon Award this June.

The accolade comes from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), with the announcement being made at an exclusive event yesterday.

Iconic fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg was hosting, and revealed that the songstress will receive the award for her innovative and daring contributions to the style world.

Lady Gaga who walked for Thierry Mugler's Autumn/Winter 11 collection earlier this month at Paris Fashion Week is famed for her outrageous attire which is revolutionising the fashion world.

The rest of the nominees and for the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards were also unveiled. Swarovski Award for Womenswear category nominees Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen attended the nominations event, along with designers Vera Wang and Zac Posen.

Steven Kolb, chief executive officer of the CFDA has revealed that the council is excited to honour the fashion talent of today.

"There is no other event that puts the spotlight on American fashion like the CFDA Fashion Awards," he said. We look forward to once again honouring the best and brightest talent working today."

The winners will be announced at an annual gala on June 6. (C) Cover Media
