(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lady Gaga admits that her "career became more important than anything" as she matured.

The Poker Face singer had been dating Shameless star Taylor Kinney for about ten months but it has been claimed they have now broken up.

Gaga has been focused on her professional and charitable pursuits for years and romance was hard to squeeze into her schedule.

"I dated a couple of older men. Then, as I got older and more mature, my career became more important to me than anything," she told British newspaper The Sun.

"Anyone that got in the way or was being destructive in my life, I just cut them off and concentrated on my music. Love is still the most terrifying thing in life for me."

Although Gaga hasn't found the perfect mate for her yet, the star won't allow her romantic mistakes to make her bitter.

"I'm still working on finding love," she shared. "I know that feeling that feeling of the impossible. But the only thing I don't have that feeling about is my work. It's not dependent on someone else. At the same time, it is an amazing feeling that you can love somebody and that you can share your life." (C) Cover Media
