(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lady Gaga wrote a song for her new album to inspire people who will one day be "extraordinary".
The singer-songwriter is currently promoting her second full-length studio record Born This Way and has developed a reputation for being proud to be different. Gaga wanted to boost the confidence of other young people who grow up feeling like outsiders, so decided to work on a track called Bad Kids with producers Fernando Garibay and DJ White Shadow.
The eccentric superstar hopes the lyrics will give hope to anyone who is struggling to be accepted.
"Bad Kids is something that we all collaborated with - Gaga, White Shadow [and me]. Just because you're a bad kid growing up, doesn't mean you're a bad person. And a lot of bad kids end up being extraordinary people, like Lady Gaga, and she wanted to make people who had a rough start or maybe not the most ideal circumstances have a voice and a message," Garibay said in an interview with MTV News. "And it's basically about staying true to yourself and if you're bad, so what? You can still be great. There's good, bad and I think that's pretty much what it's talking about."
Gaga came up with the idea for the song when she was performing live for her fans, who she calls her Little Monsters. The uptempo disco anthem, which features a nod to metal, includes lyrics about embracing yourself.
"I'm a twit, degenerate, young rebel and I'm proud of it / Pump your fist if you would rather mess up than put up with this," Gaga sings on the track.
Born this Way was officially released today and has already produced chart hits including the title track and Judas. Gaga has been busy promoting it all over the world, but that doesn't mean she has no time to relax. She is a fan of visiting bars in different countries as a way to experience new cultures, and finds the drinking establishments in the UK particularly fun.
"I don't like to go to nightclubs, so whenever I go out in the UK I will go to a pub and drink with some old guys," she laughed to TV show Loose Women. "I suppose I do prefer older men, especially when I'm drinking. Definitely over 60. I like to have a pint and a whiskey." (C) Cover Media
