Bollywood actor Lara Dutta and Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi, who tied the knot in February last year, have been blessed with a baby girl. Mahesh Bhupathi posted on his micro-blogging page "It's a girl @DuttaLara. I Love you." Over the last few days, Lara has been busy setting up house for the little one. "It's fun having my parents here and getting the house baby -proof. Anticipation and excitement in the air . Feels good to start 2012 like that," Lara posted on her social networking page.

The sportstar was keen on having a daughter. “Mahesh is very excited and would like to have a daughter. However, as a mother, when you are going through the experience of carrying a baby for nine months, the first-and-foremost priority is to have a healthy baby,” Lara spoken to the media.

During her baby shower, Lara had stated that all her friends had predicted her baby to be a baby boy. She had said: “And as for us, we don’t know. So, we will be equally surprised. I don’t mind if it’s a boy or a girl.”

The couple surely seem quite elated with the new addition to the family.
