(Cover) - EN Star Style - Lauren Conrad's says launching a fashion line is far easier when it doesn't feature in a reality show.
The 25-year-old fashionista shot to fame on fly-on-the-wall show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin-off series The Hills.
Lauren has since enjoyed success as a designer, and had initially planned to document her latest clothing venture, feminine fashion line Paper Crown, on an MTV series, although the plans were scrapped back in February. Lauren has confessed she counts the show's cancellation as a blessing.
"It's easier to launch the line without MTV," she said. "A lot of people in fashion don't want to be linked with anything that has to do with reality TV. Showrooms were turning us down."
Lauren was adamant the programme had it gone ahead - would be purely about fashion. The pretty star has insisted she wasn't interested in playing up to the cameras or creating drama for the sake of viewing figures.
"It didn't feel like a perfect fit," she told the July issue of Lucky. "It's difficult to compete with all the Jersey Shore-type shows out there. Besides, there weren't any scenes of me getting drunk or fighting, so what's the point?" (C) Cover Media
