(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leighton Meester has been through one really hard break-up in her life.

The actress used to date her Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan, but the pair are believed to have parted ways in April. Leighton has revealed the emotional episode in her life was difficult for her to move on from.

"I've only had one experience where it was really hard and I was really sad when it ended, but that's what taught me a lot about myself and love and life and that's good," she told Februarys edition of Seventeen magazine when asked about Sebastian.

The 24-year-old also admitted relationships werent easy for her in general.

It takes a lot for her to fall in love, but she is not planning to shun romance just because it hurts sometimes.

"I've never really liked anybody before. Even when I would date guys, it would sort of be on the surface and it was always a relief when we broke up," she said. "If I shut love down or didn't let it in, I would just be this really cold, sad person." (C) Cover Media
