Live it up
'Life Is Beautiful', Sekar Kammula's much awaited movie, has finally hit the screens in style. The film has marked the comeback of Amala Akkineni, and the actress has proved that she is still one of the best performers.
Sekhar's direction is great. The movie is executive very well. The performances from all the new-comers are impressive and the music given by Micky J. Meyer's is mindblowing. But what ditters in the second half is a weak story, slow narration and an unimpressive climax.
But in bits and pieces, the movie has loads of attraction, that will keep one glued to the screen. Many can relate to an everyday story that suddenly undergoes change.
Amala sends her three children to their grand parents place for a year, as she needs to be away for work. The children, Srinu (Abhijeet), Satya (Rashmi) and Chinni (Kavya) shift to a colony in Hyderabad, where their grandmother lives.
The rest of the story is about the new friends they make, how their lives change in the year and why their mother asked them to move away from her.
Amala makes a pleasing re-entry and Shriya Saran looks beautiful. While the rest of the cast, mostly new-comers are adequate for their respective roles.
As we pointed out in the highlights list, Meyer's music is a big highlight, while the cinematography too is good.
With a strong cast and good technical team, Sekhar could have presented a more impressive film, only if he had worked more on the script.
