It is for the LOL generation...

By Priyanka Ketkar

Friendship, love, parties and breakups, dreams and future plans, technology and parents... LOL (laugh out loud/loads of love), TC (Take care), GN (good night), SDz (Sweet dreams) and so on... That is today's generation for you. Lisa Azuelos LOL is for that very generation.

Lola (Miley Cyrus) is the typical teenager, with the same old teenage problems, especially love. Her mom Anne (Demi Moore) also has problems of her own. She is divorced, has three kids and one of them is this teenager. Anne is lonely and still pretty much young but she is still struggling with her past (ex) and of course with her teenage daughter's tantrums. Lola and Anne are close but obviously Lola has some secrets with her best friend Emily (Ashley Hinshaw), boyfriend Kyle (Douglas Booth), etc... But nothing is always hunky dory for a teenager, right? Learning about love, friendship and family in the LOL way is what the movie is all about...

As far as the acting goes, everyone has done a good job and suit their roles perfectly well. If anything, Adam Sevani is completely wasted. Apart from the cast, the simple story line and the excellent youth-connect, the music of the movie is also great, especially the opening song.

The movie is not intellectual, nor does it have any strong emotions. In fact, it almost always touches the surface and zooms past. It could've been made into a much more intense and a deeper movie but being simple doesn't harm it. A light romantic comedy about a teenager's life is something that every teenager and every adult who once was a teenager, can relate to... So with the "love in the air", Valentine's Day around the corner, I bet you can enjoy this date movie.
