Failure is success!
A girl's heart is an unsolved puzzle. What's there inside it is an unanswered and often asked question. Apparently, this forms the crux of Love Failure, a film by debutant Balaji Mohan, with Siddharth and Amala Paul playing the lead roles.
Deviating from all the love stories we had watched on screen so far is this film by debutant director Balaji Mohan. Kudos to Siddharth, who has produced this movie, for picking a young talent and supporting him.
Balaji Mohan's strong script deserves a special mention, for it grabs our attention and holds it till we leave the cinema hall. Add Siddharth's performance, Amala's expressions, Nirav Shah's cinematography and Thaman's music to it, the end-product emerges a clear winner.
Arun (Siddharth) and Parvathi (Amala Paul), who study in the same college and are good friends initially, slowly fall for each other. But misunderstanding erupts between the two as a result of which they have to part ways.
Upset with this, Arun starts a mission, asking his friends not to fall in love. In the meantime, Parvathi's parents go to court, seeking for divorce. Arun, who by this time decides he can't lead a life without Parvathi, tries for a patch-up. What's next is the climax.
Siddharth shines bright and his performance is laudable. Amala Paul is cute and sweet. If the former is like Sachin Tendulkar, scoring boundaries with each and every ball, the latter is like the 'great wall' Rahul Dravid, backing the film with her strong performance.
There is a long list of actors, including Suresh, Ravi Raghavender, Balaji, Shyam, Arjun, Surekha Vani and Sivaranjani, who have played their respective roles very well.
Thaman's music is a good support to Siddharth's maiden production venture. Nirav Shah's lens captures youngsters in a colourful and youthful way.
Despite some lag in the second half, Balaji Mohan passes out in flying colours in his debut directorial venture. Go for it is our verdict.
