Mad Men designer starting fashion line

14th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - The costume designer from Mad Men Janie Bryant is launching her own fashion line.

Janie has been praised by critics for her work on US television shows such as Deadwood and Mad Men, the smash hit series about a New York advertising agency in the 60s.

The designer says that her work on Mad Men inspired her to create a retro fashion line, which will feature clothes similar to those worn by the shows beautiful stars Christina Hendricks and January Jones.

"Last spring when I finished season three of Mad Men, I really wanted to design a line that was inspired by the 1950s and '60s. My line is all about beautiful bold-statement pieces, the capelets, the faux fur jackets and the accessories. My inspiration is from magazines, films and books from that period," Janie told the New York Post.

The designer is one of televisions most in-demand stylists, and her collection is expected to be hugely popular with fans of the glamorous costumes in the show.

The range, titled Mod by Janie Bryant, will go on sale on QVC on September 29. (C) Cover Media
