December 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): For all the fans of Asha Bhosle and Madan Mohan, there is some good news. One of the singer-music directors tracks have found life on the late Madan Mohans official website. The songs were initially recorded for a movie which eventually got shelved. This was sometime in the 70s.
Since there is no chances of releasing of this unconfirmed movie Rehnuma exist now, it is obvious that the managers thought it best to release the songs, giving their lovers a rare treat and another peak into their rich repertoire of songs. The duo, in those days had given hits like Jhumka Gira Re, Zameen Se Hame. Madan Mohan died in 1975, which mean the track must have been recorded atleast 35 years back, and has survived through decades, although many great creations of Indian film industry have been destroyed in recent years.
Naqsh Lyallpuri was the man who penned the words for this newly released Asha song. It goes like 'Aaj Ki Shaam', 'pehlu mein tu'. The song is based on a dance sequence in all probability. This just reminds us of how different the songs were in those times! Today, if a dance number is recorded, it instantly hits the audience as a item number!
