Fans of Ajith Kumar have made this festive season a joyful season for him. The actor's movie 'Mankatha', which was released on Wednesday (August 31), has got the biggest opening ever for a Tamil movie in the 2011.
Trade analysts say that 'Mankatha' was a huge success in Tamil Nadu as well as in Malaysia and Singapore. The occupancy on its first day stayed around 90 to 95 percent, claims a source.
As a proof for the hype, the shows of 'Mankatha' started around 5.00 a.m. at some theatres in Chennai. The movie, which was released in more than 350 screens, reportedly saw 100% collections in most of the cinema halls in the capital city of Tamil Nadu. Industry insiders say that the last Tamil movie which received such a grand opening was superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Endhiran'.
