(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mariah Carey says that getting pregnant inspired her to create a second Christmas album.

The American singer is currently enjoying success in the charts with her album Merry Christmas II You, which features many traditional songs such as O Come All Ye Faithful and O Holy Night.

Mariah has revealed that her raging hormones made her feel far more festive and motivated her to release a second album for the winter holidays.

Its been a while since my first Christmas album Merry Christmas and this year I was full of excitement about becoming a mom, and it felt right to make this album, she told Pride magazine.

Mariah is married to American entertainer Nick Cannon and the pair enjoy listening to a variety of yuletide songs together.

In particular, Mariah favours timeless tracks that everyone associates with this time of year.

I was really inspired by classic Christmas songs by Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole and festive, timeless fun Christmas records by the likes of Jackson 5 and Donnie Hathaway, she said. (C) Cover Media
