(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Murphy says you would die if you actually ate any of the food from his new movie.

Ryan is best known as the creator of the US musical television series Glee, although his latest venture is a film adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's best-selling memoir Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts.

The movie follows Julias character as she travels around the world in a bid to recover from a difficult divorce, and she begins with a trip to Italy where she samples delicious cuisine.

Although the movie features some mouth-watering scenes, Ryan says the dishes looked better than they actually tasted because he employed a food stylist to make them visually appealing and she covered the produce in all manner of lethal substances to preserve it.

We had a great food stylist. She's there burning things and using glues - if you ate it you would die from the toxic substances she glazed things over with to make it look so yummy, but it was very important to me to get right, he explained in an interview with the BBC.

Ryan says shooting scenes in the Italian capital city of Rome was very enjoyable, although the intense heat made it difficult to film any sequences involving Italys famous gelato ice-cream.

They were fun to film but they were very difficult because when we shot in Rome it was over 100 degrees every day and everything melted within seconds. I had a whole gelato sequence planned and we could not keep the gelato from melting! he recalled.

Julia was also rather disappointed with her gourmet experience in Rome, because she didnt get to sample any delicious frozen treats. The star was so busy shooting that she didnt have time to frequent the citys coveted gelaterias.

When we were in Rome I didnt even get a minute to go out and have some gelato, she lamented in an interview with British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. (C) Cover Media
