Matthew Morrison happiest on stage

7th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew Morrison feels more comfortable on stage than he does walking along the street.

The actor-and-singer is Will Schuester in American television show Glee, but before that he had a successful career on Broadway. He's always loved singing and is excited about the recent release of his eponymous debut album.

One of the best things about being in musical series Glee is the opportunities it's given Matthew. The show has been touring and he's also planning to do some solo concerts, which he can't wait for as the stage is where he feels most at home.

"I have had a long career on Broadway before television, so that feeds me. I'm more comfortable on stage than I am walking about on the street," he explained.

"Glee is an amazing show, it's given me an opportunity to have some of my other dreams come true, including this album which I'm really proud of."

Matthew thinks Glee is unlike any other programme. It's about a group of misfits who bond through their school singing club, and mixes comedy with drama. It's that which Matthew thinks really makes it stand out.

He has particular praise for Jane Lynch, who portrays mean cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.

"She's a solid all round actress," he told UK TV show Lorraine. "I've seen a lot of comedians try to do drama and it doesn't work. I don't know if it's the perception that they should be funny that you just can't get out of your head. I should be laughing right now, you know?" (C) Cover Media
