December 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): She is nine years of age but has already performed at the National School of Drama in New Delhi. Aratrika Ghosh, the Class IV student of South Point School in Kolkata has been a part of NSD and a Buddhadeb Dasgupta documentary. According to reports in the media, Aratrika Ghosh will now be part of a Hindi feature film under the safe hands of Buddhadeb Dasgupta, whom she fondly refers to as Dadu. The National Award winning directors Woh, based on the story of Rabindranath Tagores literary work Sey stars Aratrika Ghosh as the grandchild Nandini.
Ask her about working with Buddhadeb Dasgupta and pat comes Aratrika Ghoshs reply that he is a very fun-loving person and that is why she has had a very good time acting in his documentary and looks forward to start filming Woh in January next year. And though the child artiste has not read the original text from where the script has been inspired, she has heard the story and is ready to start work on it. Even though she is only nine years old, Aratrika Ghosh sounds very confident and leaves the rest in her Dadus hands.
And does Aratrika Ghosh have any interest in Bollywood? Well she admits that she loves Kareena Kapoor, but it is cartoon films that she prefers watching and has no plans of becoming a Bollywood heroine in the future!
