(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mel Gibson turned 56 yesterday and celebrated his big day by spending time with his baby daughter, X17 reports.

The actor was seen at Libra Brazilian Steakhouse in Culver City, California with two-year-old Lucia, her nanny and a few friends.

Lucia is a product of Mel's tempestuous relationship with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and the couple have an ongoing custody dispute.

The Lethal Weapon actor could also have been celebrating being a single man after his divorce from wife of 30 years, Robyn Moore, was finalised over the Christmas holidays.

The couple have seven children together and Robyn reportedly received half of Mel's estimated $850 million fortune.

Mel is set to star in upcoming movie How I Spent My Summer Vacation which will be released later this year.

The movie sees the actor in the role of a career criminal who is thrown in a tough prison by Mexican authorities where he learns to survive with the help of a nine-year-old boy. (C) Cover Media
