(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mel Gibson is reportedly considering a television interview to discuss his turbulent last few months.

The Hollywood star has had a difficult time following his split from Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva. The pair have 11-month-old daughter Lucia together, and earlier this year Oksana filed for a restraining order claiming Mel had been violent. She alleged he punched her in the face, breaking her teeth, which he has steadfastly denied.

Recordings purported to be of Mel have also been made public, in which a man uses obscene and racist language and at one point tells a woman said to be Oksana it will be her fault if she is raped and seemingly admits to hitting her.

Following the claims against Mel he was dropped by his management agency William Morris Endeavor.

Last week, it was reported he was being lined up to appear as a tattoo artist in The Hangover 2, but the part has since gone to Liam Neeson. It was claimed members of the cast and crew were unhappy with Mels involvement.

The star has not spoken about any of his personal issues in public, and since losing the movie role has apparently started to realise he may need to tell his side of the story. Since the second the tapes were released, every media outlet has been contacting Mel's people asking for an interview, a source told PopEater. Now, after months of silence, Mel has finally realised if he doesn't say something really soon it might be too late. The days of burying his head in the sand hoping this whole ugly mess goes away are over.

A number of American programmes, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The View and Today have apparently approached Mel for the tell-all interview. The 54-year-old is said to have decided to talk to a man. In 2006 he was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), and a leaked report showed he made anti-Semitic remarks to a police officer. Following the incident he did an interview with American news anchor Diane Sawyer, but reportedly thinks a man would be more suitable this time.
