(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mel Gibson signed off on a custody settlement in a Los Angeles court today.

The Lethal Weapon actor was ordered to pay ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva $750,000.

He has also been awarded joint custody of the couple's 22-month-old daughter Lucia, a judge announced.

Both Mel, 55, and Oksana were in court for the hearing where several matters were concluded to bring an end to the long battle between the former couple.

Oksana and Lucia can maintain their residence at the house they are currently living in which Mel bought, the judge ordered.

The actor can visit the home at any time but he will have to bring a designated person with him before he can enter.

The court also ruled that when Lucia turns 18-years-old, the house must be sold and the proceeds from the sale would go into a trust for their daughter.

The $750,000 will be made to Oksana in three installments and Lucia will receive the same amount of child support that his other children with ex-wife Robyn receive.

Mel came under a barrage of criticism when audio tapes were released of conversations he had with Oksana that revealed him screaming abuse at her.

But the judge has ruled that if any more tapes are released to the media then Oksana will forfeit the $750,000.

Mel pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge in March of this year stemming from an incident with the Russian musician where Oksana claimed he hit her. (C) Cover Media
