Mena Suvari has opened up about filing for divorce last month saying she is "finally content."

The 33-year-old American Beauty star told the latest issue of Boston Common magazine about her split from husband Simone Sesito.

The actress says she has no regrets about her break up from the Italian concert promoter after 18 months of marriage and is finally coming into her own as a woman.

"It's taken years to get to know myself," told the publication. "I had never really taken time to cultivate who I was."

"I've felt drained by it. But I feel like I'm really, finally, content at this point in my life. I'm accepting of who I am and how diverse I am and honoring that. All of it."

She also denied reports that it was her fame that was an issue in the breakdown of her marriage.

"I don't let that affect my personal relationships," Mena said. "I'm very Aquarius in that way."

This was Mena's second marriage after she divorced cinematographer Robert Brinkmann in 2005 following five years of marriage.
