Meryl Streep admits that she felt like an "idiot" when she sliced her hand.
The 63-year-old Academy Award-winning actress fumbled with her equipment while peeling avocados in her kitchen and severely cut herself.
The accident severed nerves and the injury will require physical therapy.
Meryl feels silly about her culinary mishap and all the trouble it's caused.
"From now on, I'm changing everything. I learn something every day. I do. Six months to a year, it will take to heal," Meryl told USA Today.
"I shouldn't cross against the light, and that's when you get hit by the bike coming the wrong way. You know it. And you think, how can you tell your children anything when you're the idiot?"
Meryl is still going strong despite her temporary impairment and is preparing for the release of new dramedy Hope Springs.
The star loves her job and is in awe of how amazing it is.
"Oh, my God. I can't believe they're still letting me do this!" she gushed.
Meryl would rather take it easy at her place than go on exotic excursions on her days off.
"Someone asked me this morning about my favourite getaway. I said, 'I like to go home.' It's such a luxury to be home," she said.
Hope Springs also starring Steve Carell and Tommy Lee Jones will be released Wednesday.
