(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Sheen was a huge fan of the movie Tron, explaining it changed his whole perspective of the world.
The Welsh actor can next be seen in TRON: Legacy, the sequel to the hit 1982 movie. Michael was thrilled to land a role in the sci-fi film as he remembers going to watch the original when he was just a child. The movie had a huge impact on him and opened his eyes to the wonders of cinema.
A massive fan, Michael replied when asked by British newspaper The Daily Telegraph if he liked the first Tron film. I was 12 when my uncle took me to see it he was babysitting that day. It was the first time a film had transported me in that way, took me to a different world. And when I came out of the cinema in Neath on a cold rainy day, the world looked different. It gave me a sense of what was possible in cinema.
Michael is regarded as one of the best actors in Hollywood, having starred in movies including Frost/Nixon, The Queen and The Damned United. The 41-year-old star realises he has to consider each film role carefully as he wants to make the best of his career.
Although Michael loves acting, he is keen to pursue other avenues in the movie industry which will see him spend more time away behind the cameras.
I think you get to that point around that age where you go, this isnt a rehearsal, he explained. The success Ive had over the past few years, it opens a lot of doors for me in other directions. Ive always wanted to do other things like write and direct. I feel things have come together, my desire to do it and the opportunity. (C) Cover Media
