(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michelle Williams has confessed that she hates the feeling of being watched.

The 30-year-old American actress has revealed that she has a sixth sense for detecting when she has been spotted in public by a fan, even if she hasnt seen them yet.

The attention-shy star, who was nominated for a best supporting actress Academy Award for her role in Brokeback Mountain, confessed that once she has been recognised in public her natural reaction is to make herself innocuous and hide because she hates being noticed.

If she didnt follow her natural instincts the blonde-haired star fears that she would not be able to do her job on the big screen.

When I start to feel people's gazes, I start to go inside. And make myself smaller and protect myself. For me, that's the only way I can actually work," she divulged.

Michelle - who has a five-year-old daughter, Matilda, with the late Australian actor Heath Ledger - explained that publicity can be intrusive and destructive.

However, the actress feels fortunate that she harbours a chameleon-like talent.

"I'm lucky because I'm not recognised," Michelle insisted. "I disappear. I'm just a face in the crowd. (C) Cover Media
