A lame attempt
Unlike their other inspirations, the Bhatt camp surprisingly officially announced that their latest production 'Murder 3' is inspired from the Colombian movie 'The Hidden Face'. But despite of having a classic thriller as reference point, the Indian adaptation of the film is a lame attempt.
'Murder 3’ revolves around the mysterious life of renowned Mumbai based fashion photographer Randeep Hooda. His infidelity lands him in trouble as his architect girlfriend Aditi Rao Hydari catches him red handed and leaves him with nothing but just a mysterious 'Farewell' message. The video leaves him disturbed as he fears that his life was in danger and approaches police for the same.
But this turns tables as police in turn ends up suspecting him. After mourning for a brief period he moves on in his life as he falls for the charm of sultry bar-girl played by Sara Loren.
After she moves in with him, she feels haunted and vouches to leave his place for the goofy incidents that happen in the course of her stay. The rest of the part unfolds the mystery and suspense.
With a good story and acclaimed stars in hand, the film could've been made into a better suspense thriller. But instead a poor script and slow paced screenplay ruins the thrill.
Direction by debutant Vishesh Bhatt lacks luster and offers nothing new in terms of narration. Editing too is disappointing and shabby.
Performances by the stars are decent but Randeep stands out of the lot hands down.
Aditi maintains her decent streak of performances and delivers at par expectations if not beyond it. Pakistani actress Sara however disappoints.
Unlike the former 'Murder' installments, this film doesn't boast of musical hits as all the songs are mediocre.
Watch this film only if you have nothing better to do this weekend.
