Unexpressed love, untamed lust, murderous jealousy, rebirth and revenge was the theme of S S Rajamouli’s mega hit 'Magadheera'.
The director has zeroed in on the same theme for his fresh venture 'Naan Ee'. However, despite the wine being old, it has been brewed fine, one has to say.
The film is glossy and glitzy from scene one. Taking a wafer thin story in hand, Rajamouli has given it a royal treatment, in the form of screenplay and making.
There is no Naan Ee without computer graphics, as the director has relied heavily on visual effects to make his film strike a chord with the audience and it has paid him rich dividends, though the cost and efforts are understandably heavy.
Sudeep (Sudeep) is a wicked businessman, who is ready to do anything to achieve his desire. He comes across Bindu (Samantha), a beautiful and civic minded girl and lusts behind her.
But Bindu ignores Sudeep, as she is in love with Nani (Nani). A cunning Sudeep ensures that Nani gets killed.
But fate has other plans. Nani dies, but takes rebirth, as a fly. How the fly then teaches a lesson to Sudeep forms the rest of the story.
Nani fits well to the character and has managed to deliver a commendable performance. Samantha has proved it once again, that she is not a glam doll and can act well.
However, the scene stealer is Sudeep. The top Kannada hero makes his presence felt in a big way as villain. Santhanam is there to tickle the funny bone.
Maragadhamani's songs are good, while his background score adds more raciness. Senthil's cinematography is catchy and colourful. Other technical departments reflect the grandeur conceived by Rajamouli and the visual effects team simply stands out.
Visual effects, screenplay and making - Rajamouli has indeed succeeded in creating a movie that can enthrall you.
