August 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bollywood veteran actor Anil Kapoor is in search of a fresh director, who will replace ace director Priyadarshan for the remake of Hollywood movie Freaky Friday. Initially, Anil was planning to sign Priyadarshan but now he feels that the veteran is not the best choice to make the movie.

According to a source, Anil Kapoor is very close to Priyadarshan and had a talk with him regarding this remake project. He reportedly wanted actress Kirron Kher to play the role of mother of the leading lady, which will be played his own daughter, Sonam Kapoor. But then, his mind was changed suddenly and thought to replace Priyadarshan by a fresh director, the source added.

The sourced further added that Anil now wants Priyadarshan to take the charge of direction of another action movie from his production house as he felt the director could do it better. Reacting to this news, Priyadarshan has reportedly said that Anil Kapoor has purchased the rights of Freaky Friday from Walt Disney. The director also mentioned that Disney approached him with the script after selling the rights to Kapoor.

Priyadarshan added that he returned it saying that the script should be Indianised first and if it comes out well then only he will direct it. Talking about his action venture with Anil Kapoor's production house, Priyadarshan said that they are still in talks about it.
