(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Recording Academy has announced that the upcoming documentary whose subject is Whitney Houston will not be based on the singer's life.

The iconic singer passed away in February one day before the 54th Annual Grammy Awards were to be held in Los Angeles.

The Recording Academy, the organisation that produces the Grammys, will release a 26-minute long factual film entitled A Death in the Family: The Show Must Go On this month.

Although Whitney is the topic of A Death in the Family, filmmakers' focus will be on how artists such as host of the evening LL Cool J and musician Paul McCartney came together to put on a honorary tribute for her in less than 24 hours.

"There was greater interest than normal because of the circumstances, but an awful lot of people want to know about the process," executive producer of the Grammy Awards Ken Ehrlich told Billboard magazine. "We never said, 'Let's look back.' It was incredible how much stuff we didn't have because there was little footage other than rehearsals. But we had some B-roll and we lucked out that film crew was following Paul McCartney."

LL Cool J began this year's ceremony with a prayer in honour of Whitney. Jennifer Hudson then sang I Will Always Love You in tribute to the late singer.

A Death in the Family: The Show Must Go On will premiere at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood June 11.
