The 25-year-old rapper is quickly becoming one of the worlds biggest hip-hop stars, and her eccentric style is confirming her status as an upcoming fashion icon.

Nicki has worn some famously provocative outfits in the past, although she thinks the idea that she loves flaunting her flesh is a fallacy.

But it's weird because I feel most comfortable when I'm covered up. I think that's the biggest misconception that in order for me to be sexy I have to make sure my boobs are out, she told Guardian.co.uk.

Nicki wont deny she does love looking appealing though, and thinks its important for women to display their intelligence as well as their good looks. The star has recently taken her image into a more futuristic direction, and has grown away from the skimpy outfits she previously donned.

"I've switched it up and just tried to show people a whole different bunch of sides to me. I would be lying if I said I don't like to look sexy. But then there are some days when I don't want to look or feel sexy. So it just plays into how women are so multifaceted, she added. (C) Cover Media
