(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald wed this weekend.

The 23-year-old Twilight and Paul got married on Sunday in a private ceremony in Malibu, California, with only 100 guests in attendance.

Nikki is elated about her union with the 27-year-old American Idol singing competition contestant.

"We couldn't be happier!" Nikki gushed to Us Weekly.

"[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We're so glad this day has come!"

Although many details about the wedding have not been disclosed, it is thought that actress Alexa Vega acted as Nikki's maid of honour. Paul's Nashville based band The Grand Magnolias may have also played a set at the reception.

Nikki and Paul met in March of this year at the red carpet premiere of the film Red Riding Hood. They quickly began dating and moved in together soon after.

Their fast paced romance feels natural for the couple. Paul believes that their being together was fated.

"[Nikki's] amazing. She's the perfect girl," Paul told MTV News in August. "We fit each other; when you know, you know, and she's the one." (C) Cover Media
