Kangana Ranaut surely doesn't need a hero to prove a hit at the box office. Her recent film 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' released on May 22, 2015 is already inching towards 100 crore, the film has registered 70.02 crore in its first week.
Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#TanuWedsManuReturns Fri 8.85 cr, Sat 13.20 cr, Sun 16.10 cr, Mon 8.90 cr, Tue 8.20 cr, Wed 7.70 cr, Thu 7.07 cr. Total – 70.02 cr"
He further tweeted, "The unthinkable has happened! #TanuWedsManuReturns crosses 70 cr [India biz] in Week 1. Should cross 100 cr in Week 2…."
A trade portal stated, "The film is a blockbuster and just remains to be seen where the final business settles. It is assured to finish amongst the top twenty grossers ever and may even make it into the top fifteen. The film will be the highest grosser ever for a film costing less than 50 crore. The best at the moment are 2 States, Ek Villain and Grand Masti."
