(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Oliver Stone is concerned about Michael Douglas state of health.
The director recently worked with the Hollywood star as Douglas reprised his role as stock trader Gordon Gekko for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Stone has admitted he is concerned about his friend, who was recently diagnosed with stage four throat cancer and has been undergoing intensive treatment.
At the movies premiere in Berlin on Tuesday, the filmmaker said Douglas had been due to join him in Europe to promote the film. When asked how the 66-year-old actor was, Stone reportedly told reporters that Douglas was still suffering and that he was in a precarious state of health.
Douglas wife Catherine Zeta-Jones recently revealed the star was doing very well during his treatment. He is expected to need a six-week recovery period now his treatment has finished.
Douglas has previously insisted doctors are optimistic about his recovery and he gave himself an 80% chance of survival when he was first diagnosed.
His publicist recently revealed the actor was pleased his eight-week treatment was almost finished.
"Hes really happy about it ending," Allen Burry said, adding that his friend "was determined not to have a feeding tube, and he didn't have to have one". (C) Cover Media
