The forthcoming film The Hobbit: Part 1, based on a book by JRR Tolkien, is considered the prequel to the authors The Lord of the Rings trilogy. In the movie adaptations of those three novels, Orlando starred as a warrior elf called Legolas.
While Legolas hardly appears in the story of The Hobbit, Orlando is reportedly being paid a large sum of money to carry out a cameo role lasting less than 120 seconds in the film.
Orlando Bloom will earn more than $1 million for a two-minute appearance in new movie The Hobbit, British newspaper The Sun reported.
The British actor will star alongside Sir Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis in the upcoming film, who are reviving their The Lord of the Rings parts as wizard Gandalf the Grey and Gollum respectively.
Ian and Andy have only recently been confirmed for the film roles.

The large screen version of The Hobbit will be directed by Peter Jackson, who was also responsible for The Lord of the Rings films. (C) Cover Media
