(Cover) - EN Star Style - Penlope Cruz doesnt act herself when she shoots beauty commercials.

The successful Hollywood actress has fronted various advertising campaigns for brands such as L'Oral and Lancme, but says the person viewers see on the screen isnt the real her.

Penlope doesnt actually know how to be herself on camera, so she always becomes a character she thinks will suit whichever product shes promoting.

I dont play these commercials as myself, she told Fashion magazine when discussing her current campaign for Lancmes iconic fragrance Trsor. That I dont know how to do. And thats not interesting for me, because thats what I love about acting! We came up with this character, this woman that has to represent this feeling of what this perfume has represented over 20 years.

The beautiful star also discussed growing up in the Spanish city of Madrid, where her mother ran a hairdressing salon. Penlope says watching women coming in to get pampered made her appreciate how important it is for a woman to safeguard her looks.

It was always beautiful to see them, especially in the last moment when theyre done and they look at the mirror and feel good about themselves. Which is, we all know, not the most important thing on the planet, but an act that means something. To take care of yourself and to feel comfortable in your skin is very beautiful, she explained.
