(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Two and a Half Men is reportedly on production hiatus because Charlie Sheen has decided to enter rehab.

The troubled actor was taken to Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Thursday after developing severe abdominal pain. It was reported Charlie suffered a hernia in his stomach, and there were also allegations he had been taken ill after up to two days of partying with porn stars.

Yesterday it was claimed Charlie who plays character Charles Francis Charlie Harper in hit US show Two and a Half Men had left hospital and would be back to work next week, although it has now emerged that he will be entering a rehabilitation program.

The actors rep yesterday released a statement explaining that Charlie "has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation centre today.

"He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern," explained the statement. "Mr Sheen asks that his privacy be respected at this time and that no additional information will be provided."

A statement issued by executive producer Chuck Lorre explained that Two and a Half Men will halt production for the time being. The team behind the show support Charlies decision 100 per cent.

"Due to Charlie Sheens decision to enter a rehabilitation centre, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing Two and a Half Men on production hiatus. We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision," explained the release.

Last year, Charlie was hospitalised after allegedly being found drunk and naked in a hotel room while on a family holiday to New York with ex-wife Denise Richards and their kids. He was taken in for an alleged alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation. (C) Cover Media
