The former S Club 7 singer and her husband Alex Bourne announced they were expecting a baby in May, adding they couldnt wait to become parents. They decided against discovering the sex of the tot while Rachel was pregnant, and were thrilled when Rachel had daughter Amelie earlier today.

Rachel Stevens and Alex Bourne are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Amelie, the stars spokeswoman said. She arrived this morning at 2.05am. Mother and baby are both doing really well.

Rachel and Alex welcomed Amelie into the world at Portland Hospital in London, although further details, such as the babys weight, havent been released.

Rachel and Alex married at Claridges Hotel in London last August. The 32-year-old star has spoken extensively about her excitement about becoming a mother, and admitted she had a feeling she was having a girl.

Most people think that I'm having a girl, she said. I think having children is the most amazing thing. I don't think I can tell what kind of mum I'd be until I go through it. It's such a life-changing thing. (C) Cover Media
