Rahman, Mani Ratnam collaborate in mid-sea

23rd March 2012

At a time when music composers go abroad and sit for composing tunes, director Mani Ratnam and Oscar winner A. R. Rahman have chosen mid-sea to compose the music and songs for the film Kadal.

'Three songs for Kadal are complete. Before Rahman started work on the rest, Mani Ratnam wanted to discuss in detail with him about the music,' sources say.

They add: 'So, instead of making a dash to Chennai for it, he called Rahman over to the shoot that is taking place in a coastal village in southern Tamilnadu'.

Rahman tweeted a photograph and posted on his social networking site, 'Brainstorming with Mani Ratnam in the middle of the sea, down in the south of India.'
