Rajini, Kamal condole Rajesh Khanna's death

19th July 2012

It was a black Wednesday for Indian film industry, as Bollywood veteran Rajesh Khanna breathed his last on this day.

Not just those in the north, but their southern counterparts too condoled the death of Rajesh Khanna, who is hailed as the first superstar of Bollywood.

In a statement, Rajini said, 'my heartfelt condolences to the legendary star Rajesh Khanna. I pray to the Almighty that his soul may rest in peace'.

In his video message, Kamal said, 'Rajesh Khannaji, I knew him as an Indian, probably world star. He was already a superstar, he had the kindness to be my friend and admired what little talent of mine'.

'He had acted in some of my films which were remade in Hindi. I still remember the time spent with him very well. He would give me advices. Rajesh Khanna is one of a kind I think very few actors in the future would be able to enjoy the praise which RK had. I wish the bereaved family and friends console themselves with time'.
