Superstar Rajinikanth came out with a statement on Tuesday, distancing himself from 3; the maiden directorial venture of his elder daughter Aishwarya, starring his son-in-law Dhanush in the lead role.

"I am in no way commercially connected with 3. I humbly request distributors not to believe any claim in this regard," said the numero uno actor of south Indian cinema, in his statement.

Distributors who released 3 alleged recently that they suffered huge loss and a section of them even demanded compensation from Rajini.

Starring Shruti Haasan opposite Dhanush, 3 a romantic thriller hit the screens a few weeks back.
