Bollywood's heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor attracted an ugly controversy when he was summoned for smoking in public while shooting in Udaipur by a local court there. 

Ranbir was shooting for his film 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' with ex-flame Deepika Padukone when a few photographers captured him smoking in between the shots.

A case has been registered against him for allegedly smoking in public. A complaint under CrPC Section 156(3) was lodged at a court in Udaipur.

The actor was slated to appear before the court on June 26 but failed to do so citing his busy schedule.

Nonetheless, the court has now asked him to appear before July 26. If the charges are proved, the actor may be sentenced to six-month imprisonment or slapped with a penalty of Rs. 200.
