Acclaimed director Rasu Madhuravan is the latest to join the list of film personalities to approach police against Sun Pictures chief operating officer Hansraj Saxena. In his complaint, Rasu Madhuravan, who had produced the movie ‘Muthukku Muthaaga’, said Sun Pictures had approached him to get the satellite rights of the movie, promising to pay Rs 1.25 crores. However, Saxena gave the producer only Rs 50 lakhs and refused to give the balance amount.
Based on Rasu Madhuravan's complaint, police registered a cheating case against Saxena and his close aide Ayyappan under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
The KK Nagar police registered two separate cases and arrested Sun Pictures chief operating officer Hansraj Saxena on July 3. A police team also picked up Saxena's close associate Ayyappan a few days later. Many other cases were also filed later.
Last week, the Madras High Court quashed two cases that were filed against Saxena after both petitioners withdrew their complaints against him following a settlement.
