(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ray Winstone loves dressing up as a cowboy.
The 54-year-old British actor has appeared in a variety of different movies throughout his long career, including Scum, Sexy Beast and The Departed, and he is currently promoting action adventure Tracker. The film tells the story of an ex-Boer war guerrilla who is given the task of finding a Maori accused of murder.
Ray plays lead character Arjan in the picture, and has joked about being particularly attracted to the role as it required wearing cowboy-style garb.
I was brought up with Westerns... I just loved it, he smiled in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian.
I want to dress up and be a cowboy I suppose. Theres something very glamorous about the tall hats and that kind of silhouette of a man.
Ray considers Tracker to fall into the Western genre because it explored wild frontiers. He thinks any film which deals with voyage and discovery will always appeal to cinemagoers.
We like going to the moon and people that go to places for the first time and I guess the Western is a name you give something that what it actually means is people have settled somewhere and tried something - you know - new challenges. Yeah, I kind of see it as a Western, he added. (C) Cover Media
