Rishi Kapoor, the new onscreen 'Dawood'

15th May 2013

With films like 'Satya', 'Shootout at Lokhandwala', 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai' and the latest 'Shootout at Wadala', Bollywood sure seems to have an obsession with the 'underworld' stories. It does not come as a surprise as it's not just the filmmakers who love to direct movies of this genre, but it is also the Indian audiences, who enjoy these stories onscreen.

Bollywood has picked underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as the subject in multiple films like 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai' and 'Shootout at Wadala', and looks like Nikhil Advani will be presenting the underworld don in a new avatar as 'Goldman' in his film 'D-Day'. His character will be played by Rishi Kapoor.

Rishi, who played the role of Rauf Laala in 'Agneepath', was initially reluctant to play the role of yet another gangster in 'D-Day'. However, when everything was put together including his attire and dialogues for the role, the actor turned quite excited and opted to play the role of 'Goldman'.

'D-Day' which also stars Arjun Rampal, Shruti Haasan, Irrfan Khan and Huma Qureshi is expected to hit the big screen later this year on July 19.
