Rishi Kapoor will play a homosexual character in Karan Johar’s latest movie ‘Student of the Year’.
Yesteryear actor Rishi Kapoor is all set to play a character which he has never played before in his entire film career. Rishi Kapoor will be seen playing the character of a gay in Karan Johar’s latest rom-com ‘Student of the Year’ starring newcomers, Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
The role, which was initially supposed to be played by Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the producer of the film along with Karan Johar, was later offered to Rishi Kapoor. Apparently, Rishi, who plays a dean in the film, shares a very special relationship with Ronit Roy's character.
Rishi Kapoor confirmed the news saying, "Yes, my character is soft on Ronit in Student of the Year. Why not? I play the dean of the college. And yes, my character is gay. It's one of the most important roles of my career at the moment. This is the time of my career when I get to experiment. I don't want to play the conventional father. Besides, I can't say no to Karan."
Whether or not Rishi Kapoor’s experiment will be successful is what only time will tell.
