(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rob Lowe doesn't consider himself to be a strict father although he always pushes his kids to do better.

The actor has two sons with his make-up artist wife Sheryl Berkoff; Matthew Edward Lowe, 17, and 15-year-old John Owen Lowe.

Rob admits he is tougher on the boys than Sheryl, although he still doesn't consider himself to be too severe.

"I'm more likely to be the disciplinarian, but I'm not overly strict," he told the British edition of OK! magazine.

"I have often said to my wife, There is a reason kids have a mom and a dad. Moms say, "Be careful up there," and, "Don't fall," and dads ask them to climb higher.' I believe a child needs both."

Rob is thrilled with the way life is going right now. Although he thinks no life will ever be "perfect", he thinks he's come pretty close.

"It's not perfect. But it's as perfect as you can make it. I'm very happy and content these days," he beamed. (C) Cover Media
