(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robin Williams says Eddie Murphy should be "as many characters" as possible when he is hosting the Oscars.
The actor co-hosted the Academy Awards with Alan Alda and Jane Fonda 25 years ago.
Robin remembers the experience well and had some advice for fellow comic Eddie, who is presenting the ceremony next year.
"I say, 'Eddie, be as many characters as you can be,'" Robin told E! online. "Anytime he does somebody else, he kills it. If he does anything as funny as the Nutty Professor in one of those opening videos and if they let him become other people, he will destroy."
Robin admitted that getting the first laugh is the hardest. He referenced Billy Crystal, who has successfully hosted the Oscars eight times.
"[Eddie] is so good, man. He's brilliant... It's getting that first laugh. Billy said it, Once you get the first laugh, you smell blood and it's off and running,'" he said.
However, Robin isn't looking to do any more awards hosting in the near future.
The 60-year-old would rather take a more relaxed approach to the ceremonies.
"I like to do some presenting," he reasoned. "Come in for a minute and get the f**k out and then just sit back and watch Jack [Nicholson] in the front row." (C) Cover Media
