Rosie O'Donnell: Fiance supports me

27th January 2012

Rosie O'Donnell's fiance "supports" her weight loss.

The TV star explained that her partner Michelle Rounds is helping her to overcome bad behavioural patterns and motivates her to make the right choices.

Talking about her new healthy eating and exercise regime, the chat show host admitted sticking to a cleaner lifestyle isn't always easy.

"I had all of this stress, and I said it was the worst day, and I yelled at these people and she said, OK, you gonna go work out?' She didn't say it meanly, but she said, We can talk about it while you're on the treadmill,'" Rosie told medical expert Dr. Oz on her own programme The Rosie Show. "Instead of eating,' she said, you're creating new neuro-pathways to deal with your stress, honey. You can't sit on the couch and eat and complain about how you hate yourself for being mean at work. But that's what you do and you beat yourself up, right?' So maybe there is something to doing that. To teaching people to support their loved one who's big."

Rosie admitted that had she been left to her own devices, she would have fallen off the diet wagon.

The star used to turn to alcohol and sweets to combat stress.

"My initial thought was I'm not going to work out, I'm going to have a bottle of wine and have all that diet ice cream. Not just the one serving," she joked.
