(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Armstrong's autopsy results have confirmed reports that he died from hanging himself.

The L.A. County Coroner has officially announced that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 47, committed suicide.

TMZ are reporting that the toxicology results are still pending but no drugs or alcohol were in his bedroom when he was found dead on Monday night.

The results of the toxicology tests will take six to eight weeks to be completed.

Meanwhile, a friend of his estranged wife Taylor Armstrong has claimed that Russell's suicide was the "final and ultimate act of abuse" towards his spouse.

"Russell and Taylor had an extremely volatile relationship for years. Russell grew increasingly isolated after Taylor filed for divorce," an insider told RadarOnline.

"For Russell to take his own life like this, and leave three children without a father, while going through a divorce, is his final and ultimate act of abuse towards Taylor."

Russell reportedly blamed Taylor's popularity on the reality show for the increasing scrutiny into his business and private life.

Both his ex-wife Barbara Armstrong and ex-girlfriend Claudio Haro have accused Russell in court documents of physical abuse.

"Russell was livid that unflattering details about his past were made public," the source said.

It is also reported that a tell-all book about Russell's sexual preferences was soon to be released. (C) Cover Media
