(Cover) - EN Movies - Russell Brand could be joining the cast of religious comedy Lamb of God, it has been reported.

The actor, who is currently filming musical adaptation Rock of Ages, is said to be considered for a part in Juno writer Diablo Cody's directing debut.

Lamb of God tells the story of a religious young woman who loses her faith after a plane crash. Recovering from her severe burn injuries, she decides to travel to Las Vegas to experience the sinful life she has been warned against all of her life. But as she embarks on her journey of discovery, she finds she can't let go of her faith that easily.

Russell is believed to be in talks about the role of bartender William, said to be the male lead role, who encounters the young woman on her trip.

Having received mixed reviews for his performance in Arthur, it seems that the 36-year-old's acting career is going from strength to strength.

Dancer and actress Julianne Hough, who will also appear in Footloose, is believed to be considered for the lead role. Like Russell, the 23-year-old is also part of the Rock of Ages cast. (C) Cover Media
