October 25, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Russell Brand and Katy Perry have arrived in India a couple of days back for their grand Indian wedding. On Friday four Indian news photographers complained that they were beaten up by two men accompanying Russell Brand while they were trying to take his pictures. Russell Brand was taking a tour of the Ranthambore National Park when the incident took place.
Mustaf Quraishi, one of the four photographers injured in the incident complained that Russell Brand looked on as his bodyguards assaulted the photographers. The photographers were badly beaten up and then left stranded at the national park.
The photographers said that they were following around Russell Brand and his entourage as they made their way through the National Park in two jeeps. The first jeep had Russell Brand, an unidentified woman, a man and two children and the second one was carrying two men, a bodyguard and a wedding guest.
As the photographers were clicking Russell Brands pictures, one of the men got off from the jeep, punched the driver (from the photographers jeep) and snatched their keys. One of the photographers tried to retrieve the keys back but he was repeatedly punched in the face by this man. The man even snatched the flash from the photographers camera. When the other photographers came to the rescue they were mercilessly beaten up by the bodyguard and the other man, while Russell Brand watched at them.
Later the entourage drove off leaving the photographers stranded in the National Park where 27 tigers roam freely along with other vicious animals like leopards, wild boards, sloth bears. After the photographers were rescued by the Park officials they filed a police complaint seeking a written apology.
