Sage Stallone's case transferred to Robbery Homicide

16th July 2012

Sage Stallone's death case has now been transferred to the Robbery Homicide department of the Los Angeles Police Department, it is reported.

The 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone was found deceased in his California home on Friday where prescription medication was discovered near his body, leading to reports he may have overdosed.

Although the case has been moved to Robbery Homicide, it does not suggest there was any foul play involved but that the department handles high profile cases like this one.

Sources say that it will take about a month to find out what the cause of death was and it will likely be classified as an accidental death or death from natural causes.

Sylvester shared his grief saying there was "no greater pain" than when a parent loses a child.

"This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory in full left in peace."

Sylvester was referring to the speculation which has been rife about how Sage died.
